Meet the Mosaic Team

Introducing Philippa Huynh:
ITE Programme Specialist & Mosaic’s New Customer Experience Manager

30th April 2025

We’re thrilled to welcome Philippa Huynh — or Pip, as we know her — to the Mosaic team as our new ITE Programme Specialist and Customer Experience Manager.

With a wealth of experience in Initial Teacher Education, Pip brings deep sector insight to this strategically important role. Having led ITE programmes herself, she understands the everyday pressures and priorities of teacher education providers — and how the right tools and support can make all the difference.

At Mosaic, Pip is leading our approach to customer experience: working closely with providers to ensure they get the most from the platform, from onboarding through to long-term implementation. Her clarity, care, and sector fluency are already helping us strengthen the way we support our partners — and shape how Mosaic evolves in response to real-world needs.

“Pip has spent the last 27 years in Education as a Primary teacher and Teacher Educator and continues to expand her sector expertise as she works on her EdD thesis on professional socialisation in the early career phase. With direct experience of leading ITE provision, Pip is already enhancing our customer care processes through her rich knowledge of provider experience, ability to strike up warm relationships with anyone she meets and problem-solving skills that allow our customers to get the most out of Mosaic. We’re super excited to welcome another Education expert to the team who can expand (and sometimes challenge!) our ways of thinking, so we can better serve the wonderful teacher educators who use Mosaic.”

To help get to know Pip better, we asked her a few fun questions. Here’s what she had to share:

1. What inspired your move from ITE programme leadership into a role in EdTech?

“I was looking for a new challenge and was really excited when this opportunity came up to work with an organisation that I already knew and felt so positive about. It’s great to think about ITE in a new way and to work with providers across the UK and beyond.”

2. What’s one thing from your ITE background that you find yourself using every day at Mosaic?

“My sector knowledge. It’s been a real pleasure to talk to ITE providers about their work, to connect providers with one another and to work with them to make the most of the platform. It’s great to have that shared language and knowledge of the joys and challenges of ITE.”

3. What’s something about Mosaic that impressed or surprised you when you first joined?

“I was previously a customer of Mosaic and was always delighted by the ethos of the organisation both in terms of attentive support and passion for the sector. I’m impressed by the vision that Paul, Rob and George share for the future of Penrose Education and am so excited to be part of that!”

4. What does success in your role look like to you?

“I really love talking to customers, learning about their provision and working with them to get the most from the platform. Success to me is that customers enjoy being part of the Mosaic community, feel heard and valued and see real impact on their programmes through their use of Mosaic.”

5. What kind of impact do you hope to make over your first year in the role?

“Customers tell me that they love the personal and responsive nature of their relationship with Penrose Mosaic. It’s great to be building on that positive foundation. At the end of my first year in role, I would like customers to feel really confident and competent in their use of Mosaic whether they are a brand new customer or an established one. I’d like for customers to see the product improving and developing in response to their feedback and suggestions. I would like customers to have opportunities to connect with other providers in ways that have practical impact on their programmes and Mosaic use, and enhance their professional lives.”

6. What’s your go-to way to reset after a busy week?

“Walking and sport are a big part of my life. I play netball and badminton and try to walk for at least an hour every evening. I like to listen to music and podcasts on my walk or on my way to work. I find that taking time to do things I enjoy keeps up my energy levels and enthusiasm across the week.”

7. Do you have any workday rituals that help you stay focused or energised?

“I start every working day by checking my calendar and my To Do list. I use Microsoft To Do to organise and prioritise tasks and I like a clear plan for the day before I begin. I also really like the way we, as a team, make time in the week to meet for a coffee and a chat.”

8. What’s your favourite kind of task — deep focus, collaborative, creative, or troubleshooting?

“This job seems to have a little bit of everything – I like the variety. My favourite kind of task is a deep focus task. I love to get really absorbed in something, especially if it’s really quiet and I can really focus.”

9. What’s a fun fact your colleagues might not know about you?

“I love singing and used to sing in a gospel choir.”

10. If you could instantly master a non-work skill, what would it be?

“Ooh – something like conducting or playing a team sport like netball to a really high level.”

11. What’s the best book, show, or podcast you’ve enjoyed recently?

“I’m currently reading My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell. It’s just a beautiful book and also very funny. I’ve always intended to read it and am enjoying it so much I think it’s potentially a favourite!”

We are delighted to have Pip on board and we’re already benefiting from the clarity, care and deep expertise she brings to Mosaic. Her understanding of the ITE landscape, combined with her warmth and problem-solving approach, is helping us strengthen the way we work with and for our partners.

Welcome, Pip! We are so pleased to have you in the team!
